Personal Life

Family

I am the wife of Dr. James Michael Mottonen (Ph. D.), a research scientist in the physics department at UNCC. Together we parent two beautiful, growing children: Nathanael John, 12, and Frieda Analiese, 9. They are students at Davidson IB Middle and Highland Creek Elementary, respectively, in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system. 

God

I am an active and growing disciple at Advent Lutheran Church. I enjoy serving God and revitalizing my faith through involvement in the Eastern North Carolina Via de Cristo movement and regular meetings with my Disciple Bible Study II group.

Nature

When I hold the hand of one I love and all I can hear is the wind, and all I can smell is a slight saltiness, and all I can taste is a faint moisture in the air; when all I can see is the path right in front of me, then I feel joy.
