Chemistry Club

The Chemistry Club is a student organization affiliated with the American Chemical Society. Students majoring in chemistry or other disciplines are welcome to join. Students in the club present chemistry demonstrations at local schools, participate in National Chemistry Week, attend national and regional chemistry meetings, help in the planning of the annual Undergraduate Research Conference, and invite speakers to discuss career opportunities. They also plan and participate in social events such as the annual Chemistry Department Picnic (held each Spring), highlighted by the student-faculty softball game.

The Chemistry Club is open to students at any stage of his/her undergraduate career. Joining the club early on (particularly during the freshman or sophomore year) provides an opportunity to network with upper class students who are willing to share their experiences and offer advice. The faculty advisor for the Chemistry Club is Dr. Kathy Asala. You may contact her at  for further information.
